Himachal Pradesh University Business School

The admission is based on competitive examination which comprises of applications ratings, Management Aptitude Test (objective type having multiple choice Questions), group discussion and personal interview. Management Aptitude Test (HP-CMAT) will be of objective type having Multiple Choice Questions (M.C.Q.).

The HP-CMAT will have four sections of English Comprehension, Reasoning, Business Environment and Arithmetic Comprehension & Data Interpretation, Each section will have about fifty (50) questions. The performance in HP-CMAT is the basis for screening the candidates for group discussion and personal interview. Normally, three candidates for each seat are called for group discussion and personal interview.

The performance in the Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview and application rating will be the criterion for admitting the students. The candidates for Non Subsidised Students compete among themselves, so is the case with the subsidized seats.

AGE LIMIT


Except for NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign National candidates/students, and serving/retired defence personnel, the maximum age limit for all P.G. courses is 26 years on the 1st of July of the year concerned, provided that in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes, the upper age limit will be raised by three years.

Provided however that the Vice-Chancellor shall have the power to permit age relaxation for reasons to be recorded in writing upto a maximum three months. Provided further that age bar shall not apply in the case of inservice candidates/students and the State/Government of India nominees.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY

Any first bachelor's degree of a university, established by law in India, at least with 50% marks(45% maks in the case of Scheduled Cast/ Scheduled Tribe candidate).

The students who are appearing for their final bachelor degree examination in 2005 shall be allowed to appear in H.P. State Combined Management Aptitude Test H.P.-C(MAT), but their final admission is subject to their satisfying the above said eligibility condition.

NON SUBSIDISED STUDENTS

The candidates admitted under this scheme shall be charged a consolidated Training Fees of Rs. 81, 820/- as on 1st of July of concerned year in addition to the fees for subsidized students. These dues have to be deposited at the time of admission to the first and third semesters in the form of a Bank Draft in favour of Director, I.M.S., H.P. University, Shimla-171005. This will not cover boarding, lodging, medical, travel and other personal expenses. The Institute reserves the right of varying the numer of seats for this category of students, depending upon the availability of facilities in the Institute. NOTE:- The Institute reserves the rights to fill any vacant seat in the NonSubsidised Category on the basis of academic performance in the past examinations, if sufficient number of students do not qualify for Admission on the basis of competitive examinations.

ENTRANCE TEST (HP-CMAT) CENTERS

The HP-CMAT will be conducted at Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Solan, Hamirpur , Chandigarh, Delhi and Dharamshala. The institute reserves the right to change the date/centre of HP-CMAT.

Management Aptitude Test (HPCMAT)

The HPCMAT will be conducted at Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Hamirpur and Dharamshala. The institute reserves the right to alter the date/ centre of M.A.T.
